Villa Le Panche
VILLA LE PANCHE - AN 18TH CENTURY BISHOP'S HOUSE
The villa was originally built in 1718, next to a medieval inn, now "Old Inn Le Panche", when Colombino Bassi, Bishop of Pistoia and Prato, decided to set a country home for his summer retreat and to rest during his visits to the area’s parishes (for those who can understand Latin this is testified by a stone engrave in the living-room).
Such a strong historic context, coupled with the proximity to the Reno river, makes of Villa “Le Panche” a charming destination. The extensive outdoor garden, shaded by apple and maple trees, leads to the river bank where our lucky guests will be able to watch several local wild animals like herons, deers, foxes and boars.
The “Bishop’s House” has been completely restructured maintaining the characteristic elements of the original building such as the grey sandstone rock (“pietra serena”) entouring the windows. At ground floor, besides the entrance, there is a spacious kitchen, a 16 place dining room and a large living-room separated by a spectacular fireplace).

From the entrance, old stairs made of “pietra serena” lead to the first floor where three bedrooms, all with en-suite bathrooms, and a cute study (or supplementary bedroom, if needed) are located. Another stairway will lead our guests to the mansard roof level where two more bedrooms with private bathrooms are situated, as well as a wide lounge with a billiard table.
At the entrance level, in communication with the garden and the swimming pool, guests will find access to the fitness room with gym equipment, a 4 place sauna and a maxi jacuzzi (7 places), as well as a toilet, a shower and a useful laundry (with washing machine, iron and ironing-board).
